A quick peek at any magazine shop and you become overwhelmed by the amount, variety and specificity of periodical content there is; cars, guns, theatre, accordians, design, anime, fashion, Christian soccer... Volume 1 Issue 1 was initially conceived as a response to all those little microcosms, it seems every week there are new magazines complete with a shinier, more specific content mandate. So I thought I would make a publication where each issue would be the first issue of a fictional magazine. Along with focusing on a specific topic area, Volume 1 Issue 1 also serves as a testbed for developing ideas, an experimental platform for concepts that don’t quite stand on their own just yet.
